Emmanuel Jackson Bernadin II

Emmanuel Jackson Bernadin

SuperConference 2016 CHUB Talk Speaker

B.E.L.I.E.V.E. - Because Emmanuel Lives, I Expect Victory Every Day: A True Story of Triumph

Many of our veterans are coming home changed from war. They have to learn to find their own “new normal” as they live with the physical and invisible wounds they received on the battlefield. These American heroes have done extraordinary things and have incredible leadership skills, loyalty and drive.

Emmanuel Jackson Bernadin II is one such warrior. Emmanuel served his country from July 2007 to July 2013 as a member of the United States Navy. He deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan and came home a changed man. Like so many, he had a very difficult time finding his way and fitting back in. He thought the very country he had risked his life for had all but forgotten about him. Luckily, he sought help from several veteran support organizations to help him start anew.

Today, Emmanuel is an advocate for his fellow veterans as well as a software engineer at Lockheed Martin, where he supports the F-35 Lighting II program. He is a tremendous asset to the Lockheed Martin team due to his training and experience in the Navy.

Veterans, like Emmanuel, are not only true national treasures but one of the most valuable hires you can make. They understand perseverance and have the ability to accomplish a mission under any circumstances. They possess critical business skills that cannot be taught overnight and, for many, never at all. Join Emmanuel as he shares his story of honor, courage and, most important, how he built his successful new life after serving his country so valiantly.

CEO, Louis Efron LLC

Why Purpose Matters Most

Highly successful organizations are driven by purpose. From 1996 to 2011, purpose-driven companies provided returns of 1646 percent, compared to 157 percent for the S&P 500. Corporate purpose has proved to be the single most powerful tool to drive top- and bottom-line growth.

The aftermarket contributes nearly $500 billion to the global economy and provides more than 4.3 million jobs in the United States alone. It is an industry filled with purpose and an immense amount of passion and pride.

After almost a decade of research, the “purpose” firm Ignite, based in Tempe, Ariz., reports that more than 95 percent of workers in the United States are in the wrong roles. A recent Gallup study concluded that 71 percent of American workers are not engaged at their jobs. And Deloitte’s Shift Index survey indicates that 80 percent of workers don’t like their jobs.

Considering that the average American works 8.8 hours every day, not many people are jumping out of bed these days.

As an owner, you need to fix this in your organization. With Louis’ presentation you will learn:

  • The definition of purpose in life, corporations and industries
  • How to develop an authentic, powerful purpose and mission employees connect to
  • Why personal, organizational and industry purpose is important to success and sustainability
  • The auto industry's purpose and why it is so important to humanity
  • How to leverage the auto industry's purpose to attract and retain the best talent now and in the future

Join Louis Efron for this insightful hour. Remember, you showed up - on purpose!
