Chris Chubby Frederick   Chris "Chubby" Frederick

Chris “Chubby” Frederick, President of ATI, has a 68 associate Coaching Company. He is a frequent speaker at major conventions where he addresses the challenges of the changing automotive service industry. Chris has been a featured speaker at the National Conventions of BP/Amoco, Midas, Meineke, Sunoco, Exxon, Undercar Digest, MACS, Precision Tune, the Heavy Duty Truck Association and the Service Stations Dealers of America.

He began his career in the automotive equipment business in 1971 and founded Auto Test Products in 1974. He has involved shop owners in over 100 million dollars of equipment and computerized over 1,200 shops with management software. Chris is known by all the major equipment manufacturers as one of the most successful equipment distributors in the world. During the past 25 years he has helped over 5,000 shop owners increase cash profits, make life easier and stay professional. Chris is the father of five, stepfather of two and the grandfather of five.

Bryan Stasch comes to ATI with 17 years in the automotive repair industry. Working as a highly productive technician, Bryan quickly earned his way into a store manager's position for a national franchise and then to general manager of 10 stores within the same company. These early promotions exposed Bryan to both the financial and staffing sides of the business and rounded and broadened his knowledge and experience.

Needing more and confident in his ability to perform at a high level, Bryan went to work for himself as a partner of an independent repair shop, and ultimately opened a total of three shops.

Stepping away from the successful and profitable operation in the Baltimore suburbs and signing on with Chris Frederick in 2000, Bryan took on the role of chief instructor. In this role became deeply involved in all aspects of development and presentation of the ATI re-engineering program.

With his broad knowledge and experience coupled with his talent as an instructor and public speaker, Bryan has been the primary trainer to Owners and Service Advisors at ATI. Two and a half years ago he took on the further role of Director of Client Fulfillment and in this capacity is directly responsible for all aspects of client training and satisfaction. In this role he oversees fourteen coaches and an administrative staff.

During his tenure there has been a concerted effort to define the coach's role, upgrade training and tools for the coaches, an emphasis on excellence in all areas of endeavor and systems implemented to assure client performance and program satisfaction.

In his many and varied roles, Bryan has been passionate in his pursuit of excellence and brings that to his efforts here at ATI. Working with his Team Leaders and talented staff, he has transformed the department. He is tenacious is the pursuit of excellence with CSI scores and client lift at record levels.

 

 Matt Winslow   Matt Winslow

Matt Winslow was born in Los Angeles and lived in the San Francisco bay area, Chicago, and Northern Virginia. At the age of 31, he moved to Maryland and has lived here ever since. He is a graduate of Mt. Vernon High School, Diesel Institute of America, and the Hunter Engineering Instructors Program, and Tony Robins Master Persuader course. He is an ASE certified Master Technician with over 20 years experience in the automotive business. He has over 15 years experience as an instructor, presenter, training course developer, and has written and published many training course manuals on everything from wheel alignment fundamentals to advanced service advisor training. He is also the inventor of the patented Wintoe and Automatic Bushing Calculator adjustment features shipped with state of the art alignment systems by Hunter Engineering Company.

Matt teaches various ATI courses a long with course research and development. To say he is passionate about helping shop owners and service advisors improve their businesses and their lives is an understatement.

His wife Jennifer and their two children are number one on Matt’s list of personal interests. He also has a keen interest in computers, self improvement training, public speaking, graphic design and anything that has to do with leadership skills. He and his family enjoy cruises, warm sunny beaches, snorkeling, and travel.

 

Phil Baum   Phil Baum

Phil Baum has over 32 years experience in the automotive aftermarket. As a turnaround specialist for a national TBA chain, Phil restored a succession of money-losing stores to profitability. He directed business development, marketing, and personnel training initiatives for 80 company stores and developed a tire selling system that became the company model. Phil joined Activant Solutions (formerly Triad) in 1998 as a service dealer business consultant and trainer. He delivered personalized business planning services as well as group management seminars across North America, helping struggling shop owners build profitable businesses. Prior to leaving Activant, he served as an Automotive Division Marketing Specialist.

Phil has earned both Parts and Technician ASE certifications and served on the Lincoln Technical Institute Advisory Board. He credits clearly defined processes and effective sales and management skills as clear competitive advantages for businesses of any size.

 

Tom Blaise   Tom Blaisse

Tom Blaisse is a seasoned trainer, organizational development consultant and program facilitator. With more than 20 years experience, Tom brings a wealth of knowledge from a variety of industries, including automotive, banking, manufacturing, technology, hospitality, health care and government. Tom holds a Bachelors Degree in Communications from De Sales University in Allentown, PA and a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from Rider University in Trenton, NJ.

As a Senior Consultant with Franklin Covey Co. Tom presented more than 1800 seminars over a ten year period to more than 50,000 participants on the topics of Time and Stress Management, Leadership; The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, Managing Personal Change and Building Trust. As ATI's Leadership Consultant Tom helps shop owners and service advisers "tune up" their leadership and coaching skills. Tom believes that the key to an auto repair shop's success is creating a work culture of positive accountability.

Tom is also a published poet, singer and songwriter. He and his wife Roberta and their children, Matthew, Michael and Elizabeth, live in Harrisburg, PA.

 

Geoffrey Berman   Geoffrey Berman

At the early age of 8, Geoff Berman began sweeping up the floor at his grandpa Ralph’s small service center. Continuing a family tradition, Geoff returned to the business as a young adult. He has worked in the automotive industry now for 16 years. He was instrumental in helping a small service center grow into a multimillion dollar a year automotive shop, including a body shop, service center, used car dealership, and towing company. Geoff has taken on many different positions over the years including dispatcher, estimator, production manager, and body shop manager. Geoff was a graduate of Vale Tech and has taken an extensive amount of continuing education classes and seminars. He has been treasurer of the Washington Metropolitan Auto Body Association as well as a member of the Business Development Group. He recently took the Dale Carnegie Leadership Course.

Searching for a new and different challenge, Geoff began working full time for ATI in the late fall of 2003. He finds being able to help others through his experiences and knowledge extremely gratifying. He believes in creating collaborative, supportive partnerships with shop owners and staff to help them to create the shops of their dreams. Geoff lives in Elkridge with his growing family - his wife, two adorable girls, and new twins - a boy and a girl! He loves spending time with his kids, playing golf, wood working, and occasionally having a second or two to relax (sometimes even with his wife!) He firmly believes that open communication and being an active listener are essential to being an effective member of both his family and ATI.

 

Randy Somers   Randy Somers

Randy started in the auto industry in the late 70's as a gas station "pump jockey". Remember when they had "full serve"? He than moved into the shop as an apprentice to the head mechanic. After roughly 6 years of working at the local neighborhood gas station, Randy went to work for a Ford dealership where he stayed for 10 years as a Ford certified auto technician. Wanting to expand further on his automotive skills, Randy became a service writer at a large Lincoln dealership where he worked for 3 years and won numerous, "Top Advisor Awards". Still wanting to experience different aspects of the auto industry, Randy worked for Precision Tune of Maryland for 4 years as the operations Manager for 19 franchises in the state. He then accepted a offer to be the assistant service manager at a Lincoln, Mercury, Volvo dealership where he was working when asked to join the ATI team. "I am excited to be part of the ATI team. Helping owners be successful and accomplishing their dreams is a very rewarding occupation.

Mitch Schneider is a fourth generation "mechanic/technician," and a champion of service dealer and technician causes.

Schneider is a frequent speaker at major conventions and meetings of automotive industry trade organizations, where he addresses the challenges and problems affecting the automotive service industry. He provides commentary on the evolving relationship between service dealers, jobbers, warehouse directors and manufacturers. He also served as a technical editor and appeared regularly on the hit Nashville Network (TNN) cable television show, "Truckin' USA," where he hosted the "Tech Tips" segment.

For the last 18 years, Schneider has operated Schneider's Automotive -- a successful family-owned and operated service facility in Simi Valley, Calif. Schneider's Automotive has won recognition throughout the area, including being twice ranked among Los Angeles magazineís annual list of 100 best repair facilities in Los Angeles (even though Schneider's Automotive is based in Ventura County). Schneider's Automotive also was among the first winners of the Automobile Club of Southern California's prestigious Award for Customer Service Quality, placing Schneider's among the state's top automotive service facilities. Moreover, Mitch Schneider is consistently recognized as the "#1 Mechanic in Simi Valley" by the Los Angeles Daily News.

Schneider is president and founder of Mitch Schneider's Future-Tech, a service company specializing in conducting management seminars for automotive service dealers, jobbers and warehouse distribution companies, and manufacturers. Most recently, Mr. Schneider has been chosen by ALL PRO/BUMPER TO BUMPER to serve as the companyís automotive service dealer spokesperson. ALL PRO/BUMPER TO BUMPER is one of the nation's largest program distribution groups, representing more than 30 of the nationís most successful warehouse distributors, and is responsible for more than $1.2 billion in sales.

Ken has spent his life in automotive service. He was born into, grew up in, and eventually took over his father's shop in Michigan. Ken has been closely involved with ATI and partnered with Chris "Chubby" Frederick for over 30 years. Ken has a range of responsibilities at ATI but none he loves more than that of an educator. "Nothing in my professional life is more satisfying than teaching a shop owner how to provide better for his or her family while reducing stress and enhancing quality of life," says Ken.

Ken has been an educator in the automotive service industry for over 30 years now, "I think I've really learned how to deliver information that is useful and in a way that results in real and positive change. I'm really proud of this."

Ken has personally provided education to over 5000 shop management teams. Ken has provided senior level business consulting on auto service profitability and marketing to Ford, General Motors, Goodyear, Firestone, BP and others. In addition, Ken has also provided senior level business consulting services to Hunter Engineering, Snap-On, Vetronix, Alldata, SPX, Apple Computer, Texas Instruments and others. He has been a featured speaker at countless industry events and been published in nearly all industry magazines. Ken holds several patents in automotive service related areas. A few years back, Ken appeared on the cover of Motor Age Magazine, the only time in the magazine's 100 year history that they put a person on their cover.

Ken is happily married and is very proud of his two children, both in college now.
