ATI Management Team
Chris “ Chubby” Frederick began helping shop owners grow in 1971 as a rep for Sun Electric and in 1974
founded the east coast Allen Test Products distributorship for the Allen Group. He also founded the
Automotive Training Institute in 1974 and is currently CEO of ATI which currently has 85 associates.
ATI trains and coaches 947 shop owners every week across North America in addition to conducting
18 seminars a month for shop owners. Chris’s clients nicknamed him Chubby and he is passionate about
fishing, muscle cars and helping shop owners grow.
In 2009 Chris was chosen as one of the top 100 CEO’s by Smart 100 magazine for working on his
business, not in it and taking his own advice. In 2008 Frost and Sullivan awarded ATI The Customer
Value Leadership Award for helping 93% of his clients double their investment during their first year of
his Re-Engineering Programs. In 2009 ATI received THE AMI Recognition Award, the highest honor the
institute bestows on a industry leader who had taken specific and significant action to encourage, enhance
and support opportunities for automotive industry professionals to improve their business management skills.
Richard has over thirty years of sales and marketing experience. He has spent the past
twenty years in the automotive aftermarket holding down executive officer positions at
Allen Test Products, Southern Automotive Test, Inc., R.O.Writer and Midas International.
Richard strongly believes in client service that exceeds the customer's expectations and that
thinking drives his marketing, sales, and leadership philosophy. He has been a friend
and business associate of the founders of ATI for over twenty years. He knows ATI's mission
well - to assist shop owners in becoming more profitable and to help them achieve their dreams.
Ken has spent his life in automotive service. He was born into, grew up in and eventually took over his father's shop in Michigan. Ken has been closely involved with ATI and partnered with Chris "Chubby" Frederick for over 30 years. Ken's roles at ATI include watching over the unique requirements of shops in the Western U.S. as well as helping develop techniques for teaching, coaching and mentoring of our clients.
Ken has provided senior level business consulting on auto service profitability and marketing to Ford, General Motors, Goodyear, Firestone, BP and others. In addition, Ken has also provided senior level business consulting services to Hunter Engineering, Snap-On, Vetronix, Alldata, SPX, Apple Computer, Texas Instruments and others. He has been a featured speaker at countless industry events and been published in nearly all industry magazines. Ken holds several patents in automotive service related areas. A few years back, Ken appeared on the cover of Motor Age Magazine, the only time in the magazine's 100 year history that they put a person on their cover.
Ken is happily married and is very proud of his two children, both in college now.
Karen is a true ATI "lifer" having spent the last 17 years helping the company
grow to where it is today. She began in outside sales, helping technicians get involved with
ATI back in 1989. As the company grew so did Karen's contributions initially helping develop
the first management training content used at ATI. She currently works out of her home-office in
Morgantown, WV, wearing multiple ATI hats including Boot Camp event coordination, corporate travel,
Human Resources and payroll.
Bryan Stasch comes to ATI with 17 years in the automotive repair industry. Working as a highly productive technician, Bryan quickly earned his way into a store manager's position for a national franchise and then to general manager of 10 stores within the same company. These early promotions exposed Bryan to both the financial and staffing sides of the business and rounded and broadened his knowledge and experience.
Needing more and confident in his ability to perform at a high level, Bryan went to work for himself as a partner of an independent repair shop, and ultimately opened a total of three shops.
Stepping away from the successful and profitable operation in the Baltimore suburbs and signing on with Chris Frederick in 2000, Bryan took on the role of chief instructor. In this role became deeply involved in all aspects of development and presentation of the ATI re-engineering program.
With his broad knowledge and experience coupled with his talent as an instructor and public speaker, Bryan has been the primary trainer to Owners and Service Advisors at ATI. Two and a half years ago he took on the further role of Director of Client Fulfillment and in this capacity is directly responsible for all aspects of client training and satisfaction. In this role he oversees fourteen coaches and an administrative staff.
During his tenure there has been a concerted effort to define the coach's role, upgrade training and tools for the coaches, an emphasis on excellence in all areas of endeavor and systems implemented to assure client performance and program satisfaction.
In his many and varied roles, Bryan has been passionate in his pursuit of excellence and brings that to his efforts here at ATI. Working with his Team Leaders and talented staff, he has transformed the department. He is tenacious is the pursuit of excellence with CSI scores and client lift at record levels.
Chris is one of the top consultants at ATI. He has been working with the company for
over 5 years. Chris actively consults with over eighty accounts annually. His consulting
experience includes many major accounts, such as Midas, Meineke, BP Amoco, Sunoco,
and many others. His strengths include sales, accounting, finance, management, and leadership.
Chris has played an instrumental role in the creation and livelihood of ATI. In addition,
Chris recently earned an MBA from The George Washington University.
Mike has 30 years experience in the automotive industry starting in 1973 with a general
automotive degree from Lincoln Technical Institute .Mike worked with Market Tire co for 2 years
then started his own auto repair business with a partner in the tire business. In 1977 Mike
moved on to a car dealership as a technician , Mike meet Chris Chubby Frederick in 1980 and
came to work at ATI that year (This is Mikes 24th year ) Mike was promoted to sales manager in
1985, Mike along with the top management team helped build ATI into the company it is today.
Mike is the Director Of National Sales and enjoys traveling the country helping shop owners realize an achieve their goals for them and their families.
Mike is very
excited about our changing industry and believes everybody can get what there want with the ATI
team helping.
