Basically, Dave was born into the auto service business as his father
had a repair shop in Brooklyn NY—from his birth until his father
sold it and retired in the late 80’s. It was fairly large, having seven bays
and five mechanics. Dave was around the shop all the time as a kid
and helped as he got older after school and summers right through
college.
Dave often joked with shop owners that his father insisted
that he not get involved in the business, probably knowing that
he was not handy—can’t fix anything. Dave was more suited to
management and financial information. Nonetheless, he spent his
life in the auto business.
Most of Dave’s career before ATI was with the Chrysler Corporation,
working with dealers and their financing needs to help them grow,
stay profitable, and be creditworthy. Throughout the years, Dave has
been in thousands of car dealerships and reviewed many of their
financial statements, including the service departments, as it related
to their money needs.
In April 2010 Dave will start his third year with ATI.
